Avocado nutritional benefits and consumption precautions

Avocado is recognized as a valuable component of a balanced diet due to its high content of healthy fats, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Regular consumption can support heart health, digestive function, and blood sugar control.

Nutrition expert Andra Neacșu notes that a 100-gram serving contains approximately 160 calories, 15 grams of fat, and two grams of protein. The fruit is particularly high in monounsaturated fats, specifically oleic acid, which may improve lipid profiles and maintain healthy cholesterol levels when replacing saturated fats.

Additionally, avocados provide over six grams of fiber per 100 grams, aiding intestinal transit and supporting beneficial gut microbiota. However, specialists warn that due to its high caloric density, the fruit should be consumed in moderation, especially by individuals attempting to lose weight or those undergoing specific medical treatments.
