Avola begins infrastructure project to connect city and coast

The municipality of Avola has commenced construction on a new infrastructure project designed to connect the city center with its coastal areas. The project involves creating a modern transport axis between Viale Indipendenza and Viale Elsa Morante, linking the Largo Sicilia and Via Miramare neighborhoods to the seaside zones of Zuccara, Piccio, and Cicirata.

Funded with approximately 3.3 million euros, the development aims to improve urban mobility by integrating vehicular traffic with pedestrian walkways, bicycle lanes, and parking areas. Mayor Rossana Cannata stated that the intervention is intended to redistribute traffic flows, increase accessibility to beach areas, and enhance the overall quality of life through sustainable and functional infrastructure.
