AvolA Book Festival draws 7,000 visitors as Italian towns host summer cultural events

The Avola Book Festival, organized by Mondadori Bookstore Inserra and supported by the municipality, recorded a record 7,000 attendees over four days (29 July–1 August) and more than 500,000 social‑media views. Director Andrea Cassisi highlighted the festival’s role in fostering dialogue across generations, while mayor Rossana Cannata called it a “powerful engine of participation and revitalisation” for the city.

In Cartoceto, the “Stelle d’Argento” summer programme returned on 9 August 2026, offering a dinner under the stars and five live concerts across local venues. The event, promoted by the Comune di Cartoceto, the Pro Loco and the Museo Scientifico del Balì, provides a 20 % ticket discount for museum visitors.

Ascoli Piceno hosted a free open‑air tribute to the Italian band Pooh on 6 August, featuring a two‑hour set by local musicians in Piazza del Popolo.

Ancona announced the inaugural Palio of Ancona, scheduled for 27 September 2026, a historic relay race and canoe competition that will involve the city’s 14 districts.

In Ollastra, the “Sagra di Qualità” celebration took place on 9 August, offering guided tours, a traditional dinner centred on mirto, and an ethno‑folk performance.
