Avolon orders 110 Airbus aircraft and 70 Rolls-Royce engines

Avolon, a global aircraft leasing leader, has placed a significant order for 110 Airbus aircraft, consisting of 35 A330-900s and 75 aircraft from the A320neo family. The agreement includes options for an additional 100 aircraft.

Following the aircraft acquisition, Rolls-Royce secured an order from Avolon for 70 Trent 7000 engines to power the 35 A330neo widebody jets. The Trent 7000 is the exclusive engine for the A330neo and is designed to offer a 14% improvement in fuel burn per seat compared to previous generations.

With this latest transaction, Avolon’s total order for the A330-900 has reached 114 aircraft, while its A320 family order book has risen to approximately 650 aircraft. Avolon CEO Andy Cronin noted that the order strengthens the company’s long-term delivery pipeline to support customer fleet growth and replacement needs through the next decade.
