Avolon orders 250 new aircraft from Boeing and Airbus
Avolon, a major aircraft leasing firm, has announced firm orders for 250 new aircraft from Boeing and Airbus. The order includes 140 Boeing 737 MAX jets, 75 Airbus A320neo jets, and 35 Airbus A330neo jets. Additionally, the company holds an option to acquire up to 100 more Airbus aircraft.
These orders are intended to support long-term global demand for modern, fuel-efficient aircraft. With these additions, Avolon’s total number of aircraft either owned, managed, or on firm order will increase significantly. The company currently maintains leasing agreements with 138 airlines across 62 countries.
The finalization of these contracts is subject to approval from the shareholders of Bohai Leasing Co., Ltd., which holds a 70% controlling stake in Avolon. This approval process is expected to be completed by the end of October 2026.
