Avolon sells 33-aircraft portfolio to Lesha Bank
Irish aircraft lessor Avolon has reached an agreement to sell a portfolio of 33 commercial aircraft to Qatar-based Lesha Bank. The transaction, valued at approximately $1.609 billion, involves a mix of narrowbody and widebody jets, including Boeing 737 MAX 8s, Airbus A330s, and Airbus A350s, as well as two Embraer ERJ190 regional aircraft.
The aircraft are currently leased to 25 different airlines globally. Following the completion of the sale, the economic ownership will transfer to Lesha Bank via LAC Leasing Ireland 1, and the portfolio will be managed by Lesha Aviation Services. The airlines currently operating these planes are not expected to change immediately, as the deal primarily shifts the ownership and administration of the assets.
All aircraft deliveries are expected to be completed by March 31, 2027. Avolon’s owner, Bohai Leasing, noted that the sale is intended to optimize the company’s asset structure and maintain a youthful fleet. For Lesha Bank, the acquisition serves to strengthen its specialized aviation investment platform.
