AVP announces leadership transition for new generation

The Aruban political party Partido di Pueblo Arubano (AVP) has announced a leadership transition titled ‘The Era of Relay’ (Era di Relevo). Current party leader Mike Eman revealed that the upcoming 2026 Congress will serve as the official moment to transfer leadership and responsibility to a new generation of politicians.

The congress is scheduled for October 4 at the Aruba Marriott Resort Grand Ballroom, starting at 9:00 am. The event is expected to include modifications to the party's statutes, the presentation of a new board of directors, and the formalization of a new leadership structure.

Wendrick Cicilia, the current Minister of Tourism, Transport, and Labor and a representative of the party's new generation, stated that the transition represents more than just a change in personnel. He emphasized that it is a responsibility to build upon the foundations laid by previous generations while adapting to the current needs and realities of Aruba.
