Awaba Park hosts first event following $290k renovation

Awaba Park in Hamilton hosted its first public event following a $290,000 overhaul designed to enhance public safety and local amenities. The Hamilton Business Improvement Association organized the Hawkers Street Markets on September 12, featuring live music, local traders, and family-oriented attractions.

Inspired by Asian street cuisine and night market atmospheres, the event included various local food vendors such as In Forno, Cakeboi, The Pho, Sushi Revolution, and Darby Raj. The gathering brought families to the station-side park on Beaumont Street, marking a significant reopening for the space which had previously been boarded up.
