Awba-Ofemili Health Committee honors deceased contributors

The Awba-Ofemili Development Union (ADU) Health Committee held its 2026 Health Awareness Campaign in Anambra State, themed ‘Beyond Elu-Ulee (Buruli Ulcer): Building a Healthier Awba-Ofemili’. During the event, the committee honored the contributions of two deceased community members: veteran journalist Dotun Oladipo and health worker Celestina Nkwute Igwe.

Dotun Oladipo, the publisher of The Eagle Online and former President of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP), passed away in August 2026. He was recognized for his previous fiscal and in-kind support of the committee’s 2025 Buruli Ulcer awareness efforts. The committee also memorialized Mrs. Celestina Nkwute Igwe, a registered nurse midwife who served the Awka North health system, acknowledging her dedicated service to local community healthcare.
