Awba-Ofemili launches 2026 health awareness campaign

The Awba-Ofemili Development Union (ADU) Health Committee has announced the Awba-Ofemili Health Awareness Campaign 2026. Scheduled for September 17, 2026, at the Civic Centre in Awba-Ofemili, the initiative is themed “Beyond Elu-Ulee (Buruli Ulcer): Building a Healthier Awba-Ofemili.”

Building on a previous campaign focused on Buruli ulcer, this expanded program aims to move "beyond awareness to action" by promoting preventive healthcare, disease awareness, and healthy living. Key activities will include community health education, free basic health screenings, school health support, and First Aid awareness programs.

The committee is seeking financial contributions and strategic partnerships from residents, corporate organizations, and NGOs to support the intervention. A dedicated fundraising channel has been established through Fidelity Bank Plc to facilitate donations for the project.
