AWS accelerates South Korean AI transformation through enterprise partnerships

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has outlined a strategy to drive artificial intelligence (AI) transformation across South Korean industries by integrating generative and agentic AI with robust data and security frameworks. During the ‘AWS AI Wave 2026’ event in Seoul, AWS Korea emphasized the necessity for companies to move beyond individual productivity gains toward achieving organizational-wide business value and return on investment.

Key industry players demonstrated practical applications of these technologies. Hanwha Solutions reported the successful deployment of Anthropic’s ‘Claude’ via Amazon Bedrock, establishing an internal LLM gateway to manage security and costs across seven group companies. Meanwhile, Kakao revealed a hybrid infrastructure strategy for its ‘AI for Everyone’ government project and its proprietary ‘Kanana’ model, utilizing AWS cloud resources for intensive model training while maintaining on-premises environments for inference and service operations.

Additionally, the Artificial Intelligence Industry Convergence Cluster (AICA) held an ‘AI TECH Seminar’ to discuss the advancement of the Gwangju National AI Data Center. The seminar focused on leveraging high-performance computing resources and global GPU technology trends to support research and development among universities and private enterprises.
