AWS announces multicloud connectivity preview with Microsoft Azure

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the public preview of AWS Interconnect - multicloud, a service designed to facilitate connectivity with Microsoft Azure. This tool aims to simplify multicloud strategies by allowing customers to provision resilient and scalable private connections to other cloud providers through a single, managed experience.

Previously, interconnecting workloads across different cloud service providers required a ‘do-it-yourself’ approach, which often resulted in complex global network management. AWS Interconnect uses an open specification for network interoperability to allow for easier integration. While the Microsoft Azure integration is currently in preview, the service is already generally available for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Google Cloud.

The preview for Microsoft Azure is available in specific AWS Regions, including US East (N. Virginia), US West (N. California), Asia Pacific (Sydney), and Europe (Frankfurt).
