AWS integrates Amazon Quick AI into Microsoft 365 apps

AWS has announced the general availability of Amazon Quick extensions for Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. The launch allows the agentic AI assistant to operate directly within these productivity tools on both desktop and web versions.

Unlike standard conversational chatbots, these extensions are designed to perform tasks directly on documents. In Word, the assistant can reformat content and insert sections, providing visual comparisons for every edit. In Excel, the agent can retrieve and format data from various sources such as Salesforce, Jira, and SharePoint, while also explaining complex formulas. The integration allows the AI to inherit an organization’s existing knowledge bases and data integrations, placing it on the same interface ribbon as Microsoft’s Copilot.
