AWS Japan rolls out 2026 AI and cloud tour in eight cities

Amazon Web Services Japan is hosting a free two‑week tour called the “AWS Digital Society Tour 2026” to showcase AI‑agent technology and cloud solutions across eight Japanese cities – Hokkaido, Niigata, Shizuoka, Aichi, Hiroshima, Ehime, Fukuoka and Miyagi. The event, co‑organised with Kyodo News and the Hebei Shinpo newspaper, features opening sessions on current AI and cloud trends, live demonstrations of AI‑agent workflows, and case studies from local companies that have deployed the technology.

Panel discussions bring together municipal officials, regional banks, universities and AWS partners to debate challenges and future directions for AI adoption. Winners of an AI‑focused student contest also present their projects, and information on the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s GENIAC PRIZE is provided. The tour targets business leaders, local government representatives, educators and anyone interested in regional digital transformation.

The schedule runs from 18 August in Hokkaido to 28 August in Miyagi, with registration required in advance for each venue.
