AWS Transit Gateway and Cloud WAN add 1:1 NAT support

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has introduced managed one-to-one network address translation (NAT) capabilities for AWS Transit Gateway and AWS Cloud WAN. This feature, integrated with Regional Private NAT Gateway, allows customers to connect private networks that utilize overlapping Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) blocks.

By enabling 1:1 NAT directly on attachments, users can interconnect networks without the need for manual renumbering, deploying separate NAT appliances, or configuring complex return-traffic rules. This functionality is particularly useful during mergers and acquisitions, where connecting partner networks with identical IP address ranges is a common technical challenge.

The service applies translation automatically in both directions across Amazon VPC, AWS Site-to-Site VPN, AWS Direct Connect, and SD-WAN appliances. The feature is available in all AWS commercial regions and can be managed via the AWS Management Console, CLI, SDKs, and CloudFormation.
