AXA and Crédit Mutuel launch services for single-parent families

Insurance companies in France, including AXA and Crédit Mutuel, are developing specialized services to target the growing market of single-parent families. There are approximately 2.4 million single-parent families in France, accounting for about one-quarter of all families with children. According to the Fondation des femmes, women head 82% of these households.

AXA has introduced a program integrated into its ‘Accidents de la vie’ contracts specifically for parents following a separation. The offer includes 20 hours of childcare, 20 hours of academic support, and psychological counseling. These services are available during the first 12 months following a separation, provided the client submits legal documentation such as a divorce agreement or a formal notice of separation.

These initiatives aim to address the practical challenges faced by solo parents, such as balancing employment with childcare and educational support.
