AXA Mansard Health launches international plan for cancer coverage

AXA Mansard Health has introduced iMED, an international healthcare plan designed to provide Nigerians with comprehensive medical coverage for cancer and other chronic conditions. The plan includes access to critical procedures such as organ and bone marrow transplants, as well as international emergency medical assistance.

Enrollees can access accredited healthcare facilities in Nigeria, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Dubai. The coverage encompasses a range of services, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and chronic condition management, to help mitigate the financial impact of unexpected health events.

The launch comes in response to data from the Global Cancer Observatory (GLOBOCAN), which estimates that over 150,000 new cancer cases are diagnosed annually in Nigeria, resulting in more than 90,000 deaths each year. Tope Adeniyi, CEO of AXA Mansard Health, stated that the company aims to reduce barriers to specialized treatment and respond to the evolving healthcare realities faced by customers.
