AXA releases 2026 foresight report on global future archetypes

AXA, in collaboration with the Berlin-based design studio NORMALS, has released the ‘AXA Foresight Report 2026: Atlas of Futures’. The report arrives as preparations continue for COP31, to be held in Antalya, Turkey.

Moving away from linear predictions, the study utilizes a ‘New Future Archetypes’ approach to present five distinct fictional regional scenarios. These scenarios illustrate how the intersection of the climate crisis, rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, migration waves, aging populations, and geopolitical tensions will reshape global systems.

The report highlights how these dynamics will transform urban living, labor markets, food production, and natural resource management. Specific scenarios include the Ayokarang Reef Region, where biodiversity loss becomes a strategic economic and biotechnological factor, and the Studio Odgrod scenario, which examines a potential shift from urban to rural living due to AI's impact on the workforce.
