AXA Sigorta releases 2025 sustainability report
AXA Sigorta has released its 2025 sustainability report, prepared in accordance with the Turkish Sustainability Reporting Standards (TSRS). The report details the company’s management of climate-related risks and opportunities, including scenario analyses and greenhouse gas emissions.
Key climate risks identified include acute physical risks from extreme weather events—such as heavy rainfall, floods, storms, and forest fires—and transition risks associated with the shift to a low-carbon economy. The report notes that upcoming developments in Turkey, such as the Climate Law and the Emission Trading System Regulation draft, are expected to increase transition-related stresses.
Regarding flood risk exposure, the company’s catastrophic risk program calculates the gross Expected Maximum Loss (PML) for insured products at 782.2 million TL for a 1-in-50-year event, 920.5 million TL for a 1-in-100-year event, and 1.16 billion TL for a 1-in-250-year event.
