Axel Disasi nears loan move from Chelsea to Crystal Palace

Chelsea defender Axel Disasi is reportedly close to joining Crystal Palace on a season-long loan. The French centre-back has not played a competitive match for Chelsea since January 2025, following loan spells at Aston Villa and West Ham United.

Disasi has been deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, as the club has not assigned him a squad number for the 2026/2027 season. While West Ham United expressed interest in bringing the 28-year-old back to London, Crystal Palace is currently leading the race. Palace's ability to offer Europa League football following their recent Conference League victory is cited as a key advantage.

The move would bolster the Crystal Palace defense, which has been weakened by the departures of Marc Guehi to Manchester City and Maxence Lacroix to Chelsea. Additionally, Chelsea appears to be managing further defensive departures, with Benoit Badiashile linked to a loan move to Napoli.
