Axis Max Life launches manufacturing fund and reports retirement trends

Axis Max Life Insurance Limited has launched the Axis Max Life Rising India Manufacturing Fund, an actively managed thematic fund. The fund aims to capitalize on India’s expanding manufacturing ecosystem by investing in sectors such as automobiles, defense, electronics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and industrial services, as well as related infrastructure and logistics.

Separately, the company released the sixth edition of its Bharosa Talks India Retirement Index Study, conducted with Kantar. The study indicates a growing desire among urban Indians to retire earlier, with 70% of respondents wishing to retire before the traditional age of 58–60. However, a significant gap exists between these aspirations and financial readiness, as respondents have accumulated only 28% of their target retirement corpus on average.

The study noted that while overall retirement preparedness scores improved slightly to 49 in 2026, 82% of Gen X+ respondents expect to continue working for steady income.
