Axon Enterprise secures major police tech contracts in multiple cities
Multiple municipalities are expanding their use of law enforcement technology through long-term contracts with Axon Enterprise.
In Rialto, the City Council approved a $1.25 million amendment to an existing contract to enhance its real-time intelligence network. The expansion includes over 100 hardware devices, such as Axon Body 4 cameras, Axon Fleet 3 vehicle cameras, and Fusus Core devices to integrate intersection cameras into police feeds.
Covington is preparing to vote on a 10-year, $6 million contract renewal with Axon. This agreement will provide the department with mobile license plate readers, drones, Tasers, and AI-integrated technology to assist with clerical duties and report writing.
Decatur has approved a 10-year agreement with Axon that could exceed $11 million. The package includes body cameras with AI translation capabilities for 60 languages, vehicle cameras, mobile license plate readers, and autonomous drones with docking stations.
