Axon unveils Axon Body 5 AI-integrated camera

Axon has announced the Axon Body 5, its latest generation of body-worn cameras designed for public safety. The new hardware is built to support artificial intelligence, offering 25 times the AI processing power of previous models.

The release includes two versions: the Axon Body 5 and the Axon Body 5 Pro. Key upgrades include enhanced video quality for challenging environments, improved low-light performance, better audio, longer battery life, and more precise location capabilities.

According to Axon Founder and CEO Rick Smith, the device is intended to allow officers to remain engaged with their surroundings by capturing information, such as licenses or documents, directly through the camera rather than relying on manual note-taking or radio communication.
