Aya Gold & Silver expands Moroccan portfolio with copper-silver acquisition

Aya Gold & Silver Inc. has agreed to acquire a 139 square kilometre portfolio of copper-silver exploration permits in Morocco for C$4.0 million, payable in common shares. The acquisition, managed through a wholly owned subsidiary, includes a 19 square kilometre mining licence located approximately 35 kilometres west of the company’s Zgounder silver mine.

Chief Executive Benoit La Salle stated the move is intended to build a dominant land position around Zgounder and consolidate prospective opportunities in Morocco. The company plans to conduct 12 to 18 months of geochemical, geophysical, and mapping work to explore the area, which features historical mineralization including copper-silver systems.

In separate financial news, several institutional investors have recently adjusted their positions in Aya Gold & Silver. During the second quarter, Addenda Capital Inc. acquired 40,839 shares valued at approximately $1,097,000. Other significant new stakes were taken by Van ECK Associates Corp, Deutsche Bank AG, Bank of America Corp DE, Edmond DE Rothschild Holding S.A., and Man Group plc.
