Ayacucho Region’s UNSCH Engineering Schools Remain Unfinished as Governor’s Term Ends
Four new professional schools at the Universidad Nacional de San Cristóbal de Huamanga – Engineering Agroindustrial, Agricultural Engineering, Food Industries Engineering and Education – will not be completed before the end of the regional governor Wilfredo Oscorima Núñez’s term. Only the School of Human Medicine is slated for delivery in September. The regional government cites a lack of budget and the Ministry of Education’s failure to meet its co‑financing commitment as reasons for the stalled projects, stating that it can fund only the medicine school with its own resources.
The unfinished facilities affect prospective students and the university’s modernization plan, leaving the future completion of the four engineering schools dependent on funding secured by the next administration.
