Ayacucho youth and regional government face management challenges
Youth organizations in Ayacucho have criticized the Regional Government and local municipalities for a lack of support in developing youth-led initiatives. Juan José Espinoza Quispe, a member of the Red Mundial de Jóvenes Políticos Ayacucho, noted that despite the existence of organizations willing to collaborate, there has been insufficient work to strengthen youth councils or promote regulatory measures. He highlighted that in the province of Huamanga, several District Youth Councils remain inactive, and emphasized that formalizing these spaces is insufficient without organic functionality and institutional coordination.
Additionally, studies on the Ayacucho Regional Government's management between 2021 and 2022 reveal challenges in budget execution and public works. While a significant portion of planned projects were executed, substantial funds were suspended or halted, leading to concerns regarding ineffective leadership and inadequate technical documentation. The data suggests a close link between budget execution efficiency and the successful management of public works in the region.
