Ayase Ueda maintains scoring momentum with Lille and Japan
Japanese striker Ayase Ueda has established himself as a prolific scorer across club and international play. Following a successful stint at Feyenoord in the Netherlands, where he was the top scorer, Ueda transferred to Lille in France for approximately 15 million euros.
Ueda has maintained his momentum in Ligue 1 and with the Japan national team. He recently contributed significantly to Japan's victories against Uruguay and Venezuela, scoring multiple goals. French media outlets have noted his high finishing ability, describing him as one of the most notable players to watch this season.
His success at Feyenoord previously created competition for former rival Casper Tengstedt, who struggled for playing time due to Ueda's performance. Tengstedt has since moved to Toulouse in France, where he has begun to find form by scoring three goals in his first three matches.
