Aydın Adnan Menderes University Strengthens Campus Security

Over the past year Aydın Adnan Menderes University (ADÜ) has upgraded its campus safety with extensive physical and technological measures. A 310‑metre security fence and a 650‑metre panel fence were erected to separate the education and health zones, and the number of security control points was raised from two to four, enabling four supervised entry‑exit points and tighter traffic control.

The university also expanded its digital surveillance, installing 224 high‑resolution cameras that provide 24‑hour monitoring. A dedicated Camera Monitoring Center in the rectorate oversees real‑time footage, while license‑plate recognition, person‑and‑vehicle tracking, and instant alert systems have been activated. The campus hosts roughly 26,000 students, 3,877 staff members and a 3,000‑person KYK female dormitory, and its affiliated health facilities serve about two million hospital users each year. Rector Prof. Dr. Bülent Kent said the upgrades aim to deliver a safe and peaceful environment for the university community.
