Turkey provinces face widespread planned electricity outages
Multiple provinces across Turkey are facing widespread planned electricity outages scheduled for early September 2026. These disruptions are being implemented by various regional distributors for reasons including network maintenance, infrastructure upgrades, facility construction, and equipment replacement.
Major affected areas include:
• Bursa: 13 districts face outages lasting up to 8 hours due to UEDAŞ maintenance works. • İzmir: 21 districts are scheduled for power cuts as Gediz Elektrik performs grid strengthening. • Antalya: 11 districts, including Alanya, will experience outages for investment and maintenance. • Ankara: Various districts such as Çankaya and Beypazarı face scheduled interruptions. • Other regions: Significant outages are reported in Aydın, Balıkesir, Çanakkale, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş, Nevşehir, and Afyonkarahisar.
In Afyonkarahisar, a new 154 kV Dazkırı Transformer Center, valued at approximately 450-500 million TL, has been commissioned by TEİAŞ to improve energy security for the Dazkırı, Başmakçı, Dinar, and Evciler regions.
Utility companies advise residents to take precautions for electronic devices and sensitive equipment during these periods to avoid damage from potential voltage fluctuations.
