Aydın camel wrestling season to begin November 15

The Camel Wrestling and Camel Wrestling Federation (DEGÜF) has announced the 2026-2027 season schedule for traditional camel wrestling in Aydın, Turkey. The season is set to begin on November 15, 2026, with the first event taking place in Umurlu.

A total of 24 wrestling organizations are planned across the province between November 15, 2026, and March 14, 2027. The schedule includes various locations such as Karpuzlu, Koçarlı, Kuşadası, Germencik, and Nazilli.

DEGÜF has submitted the festival calendar to the Provincial Animal Protection Boards of eight provinces. The federation noted that training and unofficial wrestling sessions are also recognized as official status, provided necessary permits are obtained from the Ministry and local boards. Violations of rules or permit requirements may result in fines of 5,500 TL per animal.
