Aydın Province Holds Fig Quality and BKÜ Certification Training for 156 Growers

The Efeler District Agriculture and Forestry Directorate organized a two‑part information session in Umurlu, Aydın Province, attended by 156 fig producers. The first segment explained the 2026/1 provincial decree on preserving fig quality and pollinating fig (ilek) health, covering proper ilek use, harvesting, drying, and the administrative penalties for non‑compliance.

The second segment detailed the Plant Protection Products (BKÜ) Practitioner Certificate process, including required training, examinations, legal responsibilities, and correct procurement and application of plant protection chemicals. Experts answered participants' questions, emphasizing food safety and sustainable production. The meeting aimed to raise growers' technical knowledge and improve the overall quality and safety of Turkish figs.
