Aydın student dormitory reports insects and worms in meals

Students residing at the Berrin Menderes Girls' Dormitory, which is operated by the Credit and Dormitories Institution (KYK) within the Aydın Adnan Menderes University campus, have reported finding worms and insects in their meals.

Students expressed significant distress, noting that they have repeatedly reported hygiene issues to dormitory management without receiving permanent solutions. Due to economic constraints, many students stated they cannot afford to eat outside and are often forced to rely on limited food supplies like biscuits or simit to avoid the contaminated meals.

This incident follows a previous food poisoning event in January, where approximately 20 female students were hospitalized with symptoms including nausea and dizziness. At that time, the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry collected samples and the university administration launched an investigation.
