Ayşe Zeynep Özcan and Gloria to represent Turkey in Balkan Championship

Ayşe Zeynep Özcan, a 21-year-old rider from Tanfer Spor Kulübü, and her horse, Gloria, have been selected to represent Turkey in the Balkan Championship. The event is scheduled to take place from September 18–20, 2026, in Buftea, Romania.

The duo will compete in the CEIYJ1 category, which is designated for young riders in long-distance endurance competitions. They will tackle a challenging 100-kilometer course. Under the guidance of coach İrem Kavraz, the pair has undergone intensive training focusing on physical endurance, tempo management, and the synchronization between horse and rider.

This selection marks a significant achievement for Tanfer Spor Kulübü, as both the athlete and the horse were developed within the club. This follows the club's previous success in the 2025 season, where their horse Lavinia placed second in the CEI 100 km Senior category at the Balkan Championship.
