Toplumcu Demokrasi Partisi outlines election strategy and policy goals

The Social Democracy Party (TDP) has outlined its political roadmap and strategic goals ahead of the upcoming local elections on December 6 and its party congress on October 18. Party Leader Zeki Çeler emphasized the goal of securing strong representation in the Assembly of the Republic and increasing presence in local governments through a long-term approach called the ‘Good Future Vision’.

Lefkoşa Turkish Municipality Mayor Mehmet Harmancı highlighted the importance of building public trust through service, while General Secretary Redif Ekinci stressed the principle of ‘country first, then party’ and the necessity of meritocracy.

In related political discourse, TDP official Ayşe Öztabay advocated for a ‘Where Did You Get It From Law’ to increase transparency and accountability for public officials. Additionally, the TDP Education Committee raised concerns regarding the institutional autonomy and stability of Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), following recent rapid changes in its Board of Trustees leadership.
