Ayşegül Kıraç becomes Kuyucak Municipality's first female truck driver
Ayşegül Kıraç, a 42-year-old mother of two, has become the first female truck driver for the Kuyucak Municipality in Aydın, Turkey. Having worked in the role for six months within the Directorate of Science Affairs, she performs various heavy-duty tasks including transporting excavation materials, stones, and sand.
Kıraç, who has held a driver's license for eight years, commutes 12 kilometers from Nazilli to Kuyucak every morning to begin her shifts. She expressed her passion for the job and her ambition to eventually become a semi-truck driver to travel across Turkey with her children.
Kuyucak Mayor Uğur Doğanca praised Kıraç's performance and commitment, noting that she has successfully integrated into the municipality's operations. The Mayor emphasized that the local government intends to continue prioritizing female employment in the region.
