Ayşenur Büyükgöze Kavas receives APA Excellent Contribution Award
Prof. Dr. Ayşenur Büyükgöze Kavas of Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) has received the ‘Excellent Contribution Award’ from the American Psychological Association (APA) Division 17-International Section. The award was presented during the APA 2026 Congress in Washington, D.C.
Prof. Dr. Büyükgöze Kavas’s research focuses on theoretical studies and the adaptation of international measurement scales. Her work involves cross-cultural comparative studies conducted in collaboration with researchers from countries including the United States, Brazil, China, and South Korea. Her research areas include occupational psychology theory, decent work, decent education, and perceived underemployment.
Regarding the challenges faced by youth, Prof. Dr. Büyükgöze Kavas noted that uncertainty is one of the primary issues affecting career decisions. She observed that while young people are exposed to vast amounts of information, they often struggle with how to make decisions or may make decisions before they fully understand themselves or their suitability for specific fields.
