AYITI TRANSFÒME warns against delaying Haiti elections

The political group AYITI TRANSFÒME has issued a warning regarding the potential for further delays to Haiti’s electoral calendar. Expressing concern over successive postponements, the group emphasized that the first round of elections is currently scheduled for December 13, 2026.

AYITI TRANSFÒME, which supports the presidential candidacy of Jorcelerme Privert, warned that repeated delays risk turning the political transition into a permanent mode of governance. The group stated that such a prolongation could further weaken state institutions, exacerbate insecurity, and allow armed groups to expand their territorial control.

Additional consequences cited include the paralysis of public administration, economic hardship, population displacement, and the exodus of youth. The group called on the Electoral Council to act with independence and transparency, and urged the Executive to establish the necessary political, security, and administrative conditions to hold credible and inclusive elections.
