Aylin Nazlıaka criticizes Eyüpsultan Mufti's Office over children's project
Former CHP Member of Parliament and former Women's Branch President Aylin Nazlıaka has criticized the Eyüpsultan Mufti's Office regarding its "Benim Ahlakım" (My Morality) project. The controversy stems from the project involving children in a "Manifest-Muslim" debate/exchange.
Nazlıaka stated that having children ask others, "Do these actions suit you?" regarding dancing and listening to music is unacceptable. She argued that such practices do not teach morality but rather teach children to judge the lifestyle choices of others. Nazlıaka called for an educational system that is secular, contemporary, scientific, and public, emphasizing that the role of religious authorities should be to respect rights and freedoms rather than turning children into "morality guardians."
