Aylín Mujica Returns to Top Chef VIP Following Son Mauro's Death in Barbados

Cuban actress Aylín Mujica disclosed that her 30‑year‑old son, DJ Mauro Menéndez (known as MAAHEZ), died on 17 July after traveling to Barbados with severe pneumonia. She described the difficulty locating his body, noting that staff eventually directed her to a closed funeral home where she could have a final embrace.

A week after the tragedy, Mujica resumed filming the reality show “Top Chef VIP” in Bogotá. She said her colleagues’ support and the need to honor her commitments helped her continue working despite her grief.
