In Argentina, residents of the Huayra Punco neighborhood in Catamarca, also known as the 920 Viviendas complex, are reporting severe structural deterioration in their housing towers. Neighbors cite humidity, falling plaster, and unsanitary conditions, noting that the province's constant seismic activity exacerbates these issues. The community is calling on the Provincial Housing Institute (IPV) to conduct a public technical inspection and provide a clear maintenance schedule.

In Peru, agricultural communities in the Aymaraes province, specifically Piscoya and Huancapampa, have raised alarms regarding artisanal mining activities near the Parcca stream. Residents report an accumulation of mining waste near this vital water source used for irrigating dozens of hectares of farmland. Despite previous complaints to regional mining and water authorities, locals claim no concrete measures have been taken to protect the water quality.

Additionally, authorities in Puno, Peru, have warned of a worsening water crisis. Projections indicate that by 2027, the region will face severe water stress (levels 3 and 4) due to the global El Niño phenomenon.
