Ayodhya: Congress leader criticizes BJP over temple management
In Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai criticized the BJP government regarding the management of the Ram Mandir. Following prayers at Hanuman Garhi, Rai accused the government of failing to act against those involved in the alleged theft of temple offerings. He expressed concern that the temple is being turned into a commercial center and questioned the appointment of a CEO, suggesting that religious figures should hold such roles instead.
Rai also addressed economic issues, stating that the public is struggling with rising prices for essential goods like sugar, medicine, and food. He warned that the Congress party would launch protests nationwide if investigations into these matters do not yield results. Regarding the 2027 assembly elections, he stated that the party would work vigorously to remove the BJP from power.
Separately, the religious flag (Dharmadhwaj) atop the main spire of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple was replaced on Sunday in accordance with religious traditions. The installation of the new flag was conducted through Vedic rituals and has become a point of interest for devotees visiting the temple complex.
