Ayodhya police arrest Avinash Shukla in Ram Temple fund misuse case

Police in Ayodhya arrested Avinash Shukla on allegations of misusing and embezzling funds linked to the Ram Temple trust. Shukla, who previously sold bottled water, later obtained a job counting money for the temple.

Investigators traced his connection to a yoga centre in Kaushalpur Phase‑2, where he lived with his brother Abhishek. A raid on June 5 at the centre and Shukla’s rented house recovered more than ₹2 million in cash. CCTV footage captured the operation, and authorities are examining financial records, employment documents and the seized cash. The police said the investigation remains ongoing and legal action will follow.
