Four Ayodhya police officers arrested in Sikar for bribery

Four police officers from the Cyber Crime Police Station in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, were arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Sikar, Rajasthan, for allegedly accepting a bribe of 2.8 lakh rupees.

The group, consisting of Sub-Inspector Yashwant Singh and constables Pawan Tripathi, Sohanlal, and Gaurav Charag, reportedly traveled approximately 800 kilometers from Ayodhya to Sikar to collect the funds. The bribe was allegedly demanded in exchange for removing a complainant's brother's name from a case registered at the Ayodhya station.

According to ACB Director General Govind Gupta, the officers stayed in Sikar for about three days to facilitate the transaction. The ACB conducted a trap operation under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General Rameshwar Singh and Additional Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar, catching the officers as they were in possession of the bribe money. The accused have been suspended pending further investigation into the matter.
