Ayodhya prepares for 10th Deepotsav with 26 lakh lamps

Preparations are intensifying in Ayodhya for the 10th edition of Deepotsav, scheduled for November 7. Authorities plan to light more than 26 lakh earthen lamps to celebrate the festival around the time of Diwali.

Divisional Commissioner Rajesh Kumar stated that efforts are underway to make this year's event grander than previous editions. Preparations include beautification, painting, and cleanliness work at Ram Ki Paidi and other ghats. Volunteers from Avadh University will assist with the arrangements. The city will feature elaborate lighting, themed decorations, and cultural tableaux depicting scenes from the Ramayan, recreating the traditional welcome believed to have been given to Lord Ram.

Past Deepotsav celebrations have achieved Guinness World Records for the largest display of oil lamps and the most people performing simultaneous diya rotations.
