Ayodhya Ram Mandir donation scam suspects to appear via video link

Eight men arrested in connection with the alleged theft of donations meant for the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya are scheduled to appear before a special court on Monday. Authorities are considering a video‑conference hearing because of the case’s sensitivity and security concerns. The accused had been placed in judicial custody for three days and will be presented from jail if the video option is approved.

Family members have publicly disavowed the accused; a brother said any participant will face jail and will not receive support. Following the scandal, senior officials of the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, including the secretary and a trustee, resigned, citing moral responsibility.
