Ayodhya Ram Temple donation of Rs 4 crore cheque bounces

A Rs 4 crore cheque donated to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust for the Ayodhya Ram Temple has bounced. The donation, intended to fund facilities for temple staff, was issued by a female devotee from Chennai.

Upon attempting to process the payment, the bank discovered that the account held only Rs 3. The bank is reportedly preparing to issue a notice to the woman to seek an explanation for the insufficient funds.

Reports indicate the devotee had requested a written assurance from the Trust that the funds would be used exclusively for staff facilities, a condition the Trust did not meet. While the Trust has not issued an official statement, it is reportedly attempting to resolve the matter through discussions with the donor. This incident follows a 2020 fundraising campaign where approximately Rs 100 crore in cheques bounced due to technical issues, most of which were later recovered.
