Ayodhya Ramlila to hold eighth edition in Delhi with child actors and film stars

The eighth edition of the Ayodhya-based Ramlila, considered one of India’s largest productions, will be held in New Delhi from October 10 to 20 at the Mavanker Hall, Constitution Club. The event features a unique format where child actors aged three to 16 perform during morning sessions, specifically highlighting the childhood forms of Lord Rama.

Evening sessions will feature over 60 film stars. Notably, Gorakhpur MP and actor Ravi Kishan will portray Lord Rama for the first time on October 19, having previously played roles such as Kevat and Bharat. Other prominent actors include Arun Bakshi as Ravana and Bindu Dara Singh as Lord Shiva.

The production, which originated during the pandemic through the initiative of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has reached an audience of over 620 million people across 60 countries. The Delhi event will include a fair and utilize a 120-foot LED screen for enhanced viewing. The ninth edition is scheduled to take place in Ayodhya in January 2027.
