Argentina and Paraguay report multiple child disappearances and wildlife rescues

In Argentina, two separate tragedies involving children have been reported. In Corzuela, Chaco, volunteer firefighters recovered the bodies of three children, aged 4 and 5, from a lagoon after they were reported missing. The children, who were relatives, had been left in the care of a family member while their father attended to a sick relative.

In Santa Cruz province, a search operation is underway for two brothers, aged 10 and 12, who were swept away by the current of the Gallegos River in the Palermo Aike sector. The boys were playing in the water with two older teenagers when the current caught them; the older youths managed to escape, but the brothers disappeared. Emergency teams, including divers and drones, are conducting search operations in the area.

In Paraguay, volunteer firefighters in Ayolas, Misiones, successfully rescued 15 whistling duck chicks (suivivis). Using innovative techniques, rescuers played recorded bird sounds through a speaker to attract the parents, successfully reuniting the chicks with their family in their natural habitat.
