Ayora to host 25th anniversary of honey festival

Ayora will host the 25th anniversary of the “El Primer Corte de la Miel” festival from October 8 to 12, 2026. Recognized as a festival of regional tourist interest, the event celebrates the local beekeeping industry, which serves as a major economic driver for the municipality and a significant honey production and distribution center in Europe.

The festival features live demonstrations of honey extraction from the honeycomb, known as the “Corte de la Miel.” Scheduled activities include honey tastings, oil tastings, and a masterclass on honey-infused beer. Additionally, the event will host honey competitions and culinary showcases, such as tastings of local gazpacho, to highlight the region's gastronomic and cultural heritage.
