Ayrton Senna: New book reconstructs driver's final night

Author Giorgio Terruzzi has released ‘Suite 200’, a book reconstructing the final night of Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna. To write the work, Terruzzi spent an entire night in the same hotel suite at the Hotel Castello di Castel San Pietro Terme where Senna stayed between April 30 and May 1, 1994.

The book provides an intimate portrait of the Brazilian driver, examining his life from his relationship with his father to his professional rivalries. It details the intense competition with Alain Prost, tensions with Nelson Piquet, and the emergence of Michael Schumacher. It also highlights Senna’s friendship with Gerhard Berger.

The narrative is set against the backdrop of the tragic 1994 San Marino Grand Prix weekend, which included Rubens Barrichello’s accident and the death of Roland Ratzenberger, preceding Senna’s own fatal accident during the race.
